Merrie Meyers, Ph.D., APR, Fellow PRSA, is a communications professional who uses non-traditional approaches to solve conventional problems. To achieve client objectives, she harnesses the power of the public, matching community with organizational objectives.

Her 40 plus years in the public and private sectors includes 5 years in bank marketing, 4 years in newspaper management and 25 years in school public relations and marketing. During her time with Broward County Public Schools, she first served as chief spokesperson and then as architect of district’s community involvement program, which continues to generate millions in cash and in-kind support for schools annually. Merrie is an acknowledged leader, speaker and author in Education and Not-For-Profit Public Relations and Marketing.

After her tenure with Broward Schools, she established Meyers Public Relations and Marketing, LLC, expanding her support for corporate, public and non-profit clients. One of her clients, Broward College, hired her as a grant development manager. Her work- researching and writing grant proposals- generated $40 million in new funds for the college in a 6-year period.

In 2018, she returned to consulting full-time, focusing on government procurement and editing content for other writers. She is currently the editor of Ruff Drafts, a quarterly publication of the Dog Writers Association of America. She also chairs the Association’s annual international writing competition.

Meyers is an accredited public relations practitioner and certified in Compression Planning, a strategic planning process.
